Charlotte and Sebastians Belgium Wedding
My good friend Dieter from Speaking Through Silence Photography invited me along to one of his weddings while I was in Europe last year. I knew I could expect a long day and a lot of celebrating. I didn’t know I would luck out so much and get to shoot one of my favourite weddings yet! The day started out in the historic town, Mechelen where Charlotte grew up. Her family ran a hotel and they live on the top floor of the building with a great view over the town. Their ceremony was in a lovely church in Rijmenam with drinks served out the back after from a quirky little champaign van. The venue they chose for the reception and after party, the Heerlijckyt van Elsmeren was unreal. It was the people and their contagious joy that made this wedding as amazing as it was. Charlotte and Sebastian’s nieces were endlessly entertaining, I’m pretty sure they thought I was a weird girl because I couldn’t understand them, they used hand gestures to explain themselves to me and it seemed to get the message across well enough. The energy this entire day was palpable, there was never a dull moment. I will always be grateful to Dieter, Charlotte and Sebastian for having me along to help document the day.
